Our Core Values

Our Story

Our journey began with a deep-seated passion for woodworking, starting from early childhood projects with family. Over the years, what began as a hobby evolved into a dedicated pursuit, driven by a desire to create custom solutions for our own home and those of friends and family.

After realizing the potential to share our skills with a wider audience, Drysworks was established to offer custom-designed pieces that perfectly align with our clients' spaces and needs.

The name "Drysworks" is a blend of "Woodworks" and the Ancient Greek word "Drys" (δρυς, pronounced "dris"), meaning wood or oak tree. It reflects our Greek heritage as Greek Americans.

Milto Stamatopoulos

“From a young age, I found joy in crafting things with my hands. I still remember my first project vividly—building a fence with my grandfather when I was just five years old.

This early experience ignited a lifelong passion for working with wood. As I grew up, I eagerly helped with various home projects, and after college, I began woodworking as a hobby. I loved the creative freedom of crafting custom pieces that perfectly fit my space, often spending my evenings in the garage, turning ideas into reality for myself, my family, and friends.

When I married, my wife and I embarked on a shared journey to make our house a true home. We wanted our space to be filled with love, memories, and uniquely tailored items that reflected our personal style. Rather than settling for off-the-shelf solutions, we decided to create custom pieces ourselves.

My wife designed items to meet our specific needs, and I brought her visions to life in our garage, which gradually evolved into a fully equipped woodworking shop. As our friends and family began requesting similar custom creations, we realized something: our passion for woodworking could be a gift to others.

We envisioned a business where we could offer custom-designed pieces that resonate with people’s styles and needs. And so, with excitement and dedication, Drysworks was born.”
